| The Freedom of Forgiveness |
Ausburger, David |
Seventy times seven.......How many times shall I
forgive? Our Lord answers us clearly that our
forgiveness of those who hurt us shall have no end. This
is one of the most difficult things any person has to
face.David Augsburger understands this. He knows the
outrageous cost - and incomparable value - of forgiving.
He also knows this is a believer's only option. Any
other course of action will not only be destructive, it
will violate the will of God.In The New Freedom of
Forgiveness, Dr. Augsburger expands upon his classic
writing to provide a more comprehensive, expanded, and
stronger message. Combining personal testimonies with
Scripture, Dr. Augsburger provides readers with
practical guidance on applying forgiveness in our
everyday lives. With an excellent new study guide,
readers will be challenged on an even deeper level. We
are commanded to forgive everything. Not just the little
stuff, the minor irritations and thoughtless behavior of
others. But everything. When we forgive, we are set free
from bondage. The New Freedom of Forgiveness is an
essential resource not only for understanding what God
requires, but also learning how to apply it every day.
Read this life-changing book and discover the freedom of
forgiveness.

| Power Religion |
Colson, Charles |
Should be required reading for all church leaders.,
July 19, 1999
Reviewer: A reader
Many of the issues up for discussion are simply based
upon the age-old debate between, semi-Pelagianism and
Augustinianism. However the contributers adroitly cut
through the flesh and get at the heart of contemporary
church issues. This debate is not over a matter of
style. But rather it accurately raises the concern as to
what constitutes true Christian religion. If some of the
points that are raised are indeed correct, one would
have to wonder if authentic Christian faith even exists
within much of the current church milieu. These articles
should not be treated lightly but rather with fear and
trembling. |
| How Now Shall We Live? |
Colson, Charles |
How Now Shall We Live was the heart cry of a people
who lived during the Jewish exile from the Promised
Land, yet it is no less the unspoken prayer of the
faithful today. As author Chuck Colson puts it, "We live
in a culture that is at best morally indifferent ... in
which Judeo-Christian values are mocked ... in which
violence, banality, meanness, and disintegrating
personal behavior are destroying civility and
endangering the very life of our communities." It is no
small wonder that Colson--the founder of Prison
Fellowship Ministries and author of several renowned
Christian works--considers this book the most important
work of his life. |

| A World Without Tyranny |
Curry, Dean C. |
A timely, informed study on how Biblical faith
relates to world politics. Curry provides a splendid
defense of democratic capitalism |
| Children At Risk |
Dobson - Bauer |
Bauer is finally bringing morals into America,
December 1, 1999
Reviewer: Scott (Buffalo, New York) -
Although Gary Bauer may be extreme at some points, I
believe that the views that he and Dobson display are
valid. The youth in America are growing up corrupt and
there are people who let this go by. Morals need to be
instilled into our children so that they will grow up to
believe what President Clinton did was wrong, and that
should not be tolerated. This book is shocking but
definitely a wake-up call for all parents. |
| God is for the Alcoholic |
Dunn, Jerry G. |
author Jerry Dunn discovered there is indeed hope
for the alcoholic. god provided his escape at the end of
a two-year drunk, when he picked up a Bible in a Texas
prison. |
| Lonliness |
Elliot, Elizabeth |
Like all Elisabeth Elliot books, this book is based
on strong Biblical values and is encouraging and
meaningful. She gives a view on the blessings of
lonliness, a view most of us don't usually take on the
matter. Definitely a good read (albeit quite short) and
something good for group discussion.

evangelist and in his many books, Dr. Billy Graham has
told millions about Christ's offer of eternal life. Now
he calls us to confront the sobering fact of death -
realistically, but always with the confidence that
through our relationship with Christ we can overcome
this final earthly obstacle to ever-lasting life. |
| Answers to Life's Problems |
Grahan, billy |

world's most widely known evangelist offers guidance for

ourselves and our lives. With candor and insight, Dr.

relationships, ethical issues, psychological problems,
and more. |
| Third Time Around |
Grant, George |
Third Time Around, by George Grant, is by far the
most thorough and scholarly account, that I have seen,
of heroes through the centuries. Their stories teach us
that the the struggle to preserve life never ends. Many
of these men and women sacrificed lives of comfort or
luxury to follow their calling. Others used their
authority, influence, or affluence to bring about
changes that saved lives. Many were martyred. You will
be amazed at how many times victory has been won for the
unwanted, only to see them threatened again in another
time or under another ruler. That it has been won so
many times before should be an encouragement to all who
love babies, the handicapped, and others of the most
vulnerable among us!

| Intimate Deception Escaping the Trap of Sexual
Impurity |
Hillerstrom, roger |
This book was fabulous. It has really helped me to
better understand issues in my own relationships and to
see why they are issues and where they are coming from.
It also gives very practical and reasonable advice for
couples dealing with sexual sin. Reading this book made
me finally realize the full impact of my actions and
helped me to understand why I needed to change. It
restored hope in my current relationship and in my
capacity to handle relationships in general. I borrowed
my copy from a friend and want my own-I wish it was
still in print!

| Stick a Geranium in your hat & be happy |
Johnson, Barbara |
"Pain is inevitable but misery is optional," says
Barbara Johnson, and she should know. The survivor of
four devastating experiences, Barbara, with the wit of
Erma Bombeck, teaches how to find joy in the midst of it
all. Her "credentials" open doors and provide insight to
all those who suffer from the difficulties of life.
And this million copy edition is proof that the message
holds true! Parents of prodigals and those who have
suffered the greatest loss of all, the loss of a loved
one, have all proclaimed with a smile, "This book has
saved my life!"
Barbara's "pain" began when her husband was in a
near-fatal accident. While he slowly recovered from
severe, debilitating injures, they lost one son in
Vietnam, and another son in an automobile accident. The
final blow was losing their third son to the homosexual
lifestyle. Through Barbara's final desperate plea to God
of "Whatever, Lord…" a bubble of joy came to replace the
elephant she felt sitting on her heart.
But life continues and so have the opportunities to
practice what she preaches. Barbara was diagnosed with
adult-onset diabetes and then most recently a cancerous
brain tumor. Despite her difficulties, she continues to
model that though pain is inevitable to us all, we can
choose to see the flowers instead of the weeds.
|
| Splashes of Joy in the cesspools of Life |
Johnson, Barbara |
Barbara Johnson's approach to life is positive,
uplifting, therapeutic and fun. Splashes of Joy offers
an invigorating spurt of encouragement and a gentle
reminder to splatter joy into the lives of others.
|
| Turn it to Gold |
Kennedy, Dr. James |
Dr. D. James Kennedy's, TURN IT TO GOLD offers a
wealth of encouragement in a back-to-basics style. The
chapters are each self-sustaining, but come together to
lift the reader in a way that soothes the spirit and
re-ignites a fire of hope in the weary heart. A great
pick for anyone who is at the end of his rope, but also
a nice re-read any time encouragement and perspective is
sought. Dr. Kennedy empowers the reader to become
proactive in his circumstances by CHOOSING joy over
sorrow, faith over worry, and hope over despair. |

| Anger is a Choice |
La Haye, Tim
Phillips, Bob |
Life Changing!, July 9, 2003
Reviewer: A reader
I have struggled with anger from the time I was a child.
It's to the point now where I am desperate for change.
It was that desperation that caused me to pick up this
book. I loved the way the authors used real life
examples and charts and diagrams. I also got so much out
of the self-tests. The section on temperment was very
eye opening for my personally. I definitely found my own
temperment. But most of all, this book not only gives
hope of real change, it lays out a process of getting
there. The problem is neither quick nor easy, but it is
possible. I recommend this book to anyone, Christian or
not who has struggled with anger. I've read several
books on the subject and this is one of the best books
out there. It does not just deal with the symptoms of
anger, but helps you get to the root cause of your
anger. This is one book that I know I will refer to time
and time again. |
| The Battle for the Mind |
LaHaye, Tim |
Shocking and provocative, definite re-read, January
9, 2004
Reviewer: "homernet" (La Mesa, CA USA) -
Having been raised by an extreamist feminist, I
recognized many of the accusations made by LaHaye in
this book as being genuinely part of the
feminist/humanist agenda. Even had I not become a
follower of Christ, I would have recognized every
statement as being true. What was most eye-opening for
me was how accurate the author was in his predictions.
He makes many statements about how "20 years from
now..." that, having read this book in 2002, 20 years
after the initial publishing, I could see how accurate
he was. |
| Ten Steps to Victory Over Depression |
Lahaye, Tim |

| He Still Moves Stones |
Lucado, Max |
Why does the Bible contain so many stories of
hurting people? Though their situations vary, their
conditions don't. They have nowhere to turn. Yet before
their eyes stands a never-say-die Galilean who majors in
stepping in when everyone else steps out. Lucado reminds
us that the purpose of these portraits isn't to tell us
what Jesus did-but rather to remind us what Jesus still
does.
|
| the Enemy within |
Lundgaard, Kris |
This book has to be one of the most outstanding
books I have read in a long time. What a clear and well
ilustrated book. I have used it's contents in my
messages, in my counseling sessions and have given it as
a reading assignment to my students. It has the makings
of a classic.

| No Place to Cry |
Lutzer, Erwin |

tender heart to forgive her abusers, He also gave her
the strength to reveal her past in " No Place to Cry,"
the sequel to the best seller "Dorie, The Girl Nobody
Loved." Through her candor you will gain insight into
the trauma of emotional and sexual abuse. |
| Managing Your Emotions |

|
| Failure: The Back Door to Success |
Lutzer, Erwin w. |
The book "Failure: The Back Door to Success" is an
excellent resource. This book is very encouraging and
informative, and one of the best nonfiction books I've
read. Erwin Lutzer is very clear and concise. He doesn't
beat around the bush when criticism is needed (it often
is), and gives credit where credit is due. A must-read!

McGee, Robert S. |
Robert McGee's best-selling book has helped millions

Billy Graham said that it was a book that "should be
read by every Christian."

| The Universe Next Door |
Sire, James W. |
When The Universe Next Door was first introduced
nearly thirty years ago, it set the standard for a
clear, readable introduction to worldviews. In concise,
easily understood prose, James W. Sire explained the
basics of theism, deism, naturalism, nihilism,
existentialism, Eastern monism and the new
consciousness. The second edition was updated and
expanded to include sections on Marxism and secular
humanism, as well as a completely reworked chapter on
what is now widely known as New Age philosophy rather
than new consciousness. And the third edition offered
further updating and revisions, including a thoroughly
revised chapter on New Age philosophy and, perhaps most
importantly, a new chapter on postmodernism. Now the
fourth edition refines the definition of worldview
itself, incorporating Sire's thinking and teaching
during the past decade. (His recent work is showcased in
a new book, Naming the Elephant, also published by IVP.)
The Universe Next Door has been translated into several
languages and has been used as a text at over one
hundred colleges and universities in courses ranging
from apologetics and world religions to history and
English literature. With the publication of the fourth
edition, this book will continue to aid students,
teachers and anyone who wants to understand the variety
of worldviews that compete with Christianity for the
allegiance of our minds and hearts. |

has begun in each of our hearts, He will surely

biblical truths when explaining the terrible tragedy of
abortion. I have ordered copies for friends and family
